Transcu clearly recognises and understands the need for leading-edged capabilities and innovative technologies through its significant investment in research and development activities to develop a wide range of pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical products.
The research and development process which Transcu undertakes are:
This is usually either done by Transcu’s team of researchers from its laboratories in Dharma (USA) and TTI ellebeau (Japan) or in collaboration with leading academic institutions.
This is the stage where the research and development team will make in-depth studies of the positive results derived from basic research studies. The research and development team in TTI ellebeau focuses more on the ionic passive transdermal drug delivery technologies and the team at Dharma focuses on the active iontophoresis transdermal drug delivery technology.
Transcu has the capability in its facilities at Dharma and TTI elleabeau to manage pre-clinical and clinical trials for any new drug-device products developed using Transcu’s transdermal drug delivery technologies.
A typical pre-clincial study is done in-house in the laboratory and if the results are satisfactory, it moves to the clinical trials stage where tests are conducted on human volunteers. Clinical trials are usually conducted in three phases.
